The latest edition of Wear It 3 Ways features these incredible Stripe Cigarette Trousers from Topshop (£42). The ankle grazing length is flattering to all heights and breaks the print up a bit, ensuring it's not 'in your face'. It's an easy cut of trouser to style up or down, and it even has little side pockets - everyone loves pockets! The print is quite reminiscent of the 80s and definitely give off a retro vibe. Here are the 3 ways to style it:
For the workplace:
The prominent colour in the trousers is the larger red stripe, although it is accented by a black stripe so keeping the rest of the outfit this colour will make the red pop. This Oversized Blouse from Asos (£28) will look great tucked in to the waistband, with the baggy fit balancing out the closer cut of the trousers. Teaming it with these black Court Shoes from Dorothy Perkins (£27) will complete the look perfectly, with this shoe style being very office appropriate.
For the weekend:
As with the work look, you should let the pattern on the trousers do all the talking and keep the rest of your outfit neutral. This Black Polo Neck from H&M (£14.99) is very on trend for winter and the fine knit goes well with the smart trouser material. Plimsolls are the ultimate in casual footwear and these Honey versions from Adidas (£45) are a great quality. The light grey colour accents the main grey of the trousers, and adds a mix to the black accessories. To finish off your weekend look, a fringed leather bag such as this faux version from River Island (£15) will keep your look right on trend.
For the night:
Since you're wearing trousers, you can get a bit more skin out on your top half for hitting the bars. This awesome Cropped Bra Top from Silence And Noise at Urban Outfitters (£22) is a great way to do this. The central strap with the triangle cups is great detailing and keeps the trousers looking youthfully smart. Heeled sandals would look slick with this look but I've opted for a pair of Chunky Heeled Sandals from Asos (£40). Again, these keep your look more on the young and free side, and the cleated soles toughen up the daintier crop top. To complete this look I would recommend a deep red or black clutch and keeping your jewelry quite subtle - the trousers are statement enough.
