Last week I posted the 5 best winter jumpers for menswear, which proved pretty popular. So, this week's women's edit is all about decking you ladies out for the colder climes as well - starting with higher end, and then onto the more budget-friendly.
Alexander Wang is known for his street-chic collections, and this cotton twill cropped sweater (£218) fits in perfectly. The over-sized style and long sleeves make it incredibly comfy to be in and is great for the days when you just want to feel wrapped up and cosy. The dark grey colour is easily matched with other dark shades, or you could team it with the matching twill sweatpants.
Chanel's AW14 show brought us an extravagent supermarket-themed catwalk, and this edgy ensemble. Seen here on Cara Delevigne and worn in cream by Kim Kardashian, this crop sweater (£1340) and jersey trouser outfit has been very popular. The ripped fabric toughens up the bright pink colour, and would be best layered over a long cami for every day wear to avoid catching a chill.
I love this Opening Ceremony crop (£320) because of the use of finely striped colours and opposing white cuffs. The round neck is great for wearing a crisp white shirt underneath, and teaming it with dark blue jeans creates a quintessentially English country look.
In a subdued yellow shade, this jumper from Miu Miu (£550) is brilliant for brightening up the dull days. The ribbed detailing makes for a thick, durable piece, and the higher neck means you can get away with just wearing a simple t-shirt underneath and letting the spring shade do all the talking.
I think it's safe to say that Moschino's latest collection made quite the impact on the catwalks. With a Barbie-inspired theme, you are sure to get noticed in any of the pieces. The white lettering with bright pink shadow of this crop (£290) juxtaposes nicely against the plain black knit and is definitely a statement piece.
Waffle has long been popular in knitwear, due to its casual appearance, and this jumper (£18) in light grey shows the texture off perfectly. It would suit a normcore style when teamed with black skinnies and sneakers, or can toughen up a more feminine dress.
This cowl neck jumper from New Look (£22.99) just screams 'cosy' and you can see yourself wrapped up under a blanket wearing this. The stylish neckline is like wearing a scarf and gives a cool edge to the baby blue shade of the light knit. You could style it with a pastel colour dress or skirt, or go for blue denim and boots.
Fluffy jumpers have been very popular on the high street this season, with almost every store presenting their own version. The fabric may be a bit scratchy to some but I found after wearing mine for a very short while it softened up to my skin. This crop from River Island (£30) also comes in light grey and light blue.
Oh My Love London have designed this serious crop (£24), with netted cutout stripes. It's a tough look and will be best styled with other dark colours, such as grey and deep red.
This is my favourite jumper, from Topshop (£34), for similar reasons to the offering from Opening Ceremony above. The colours are very retro, with the bright yellow detailing giving it a nice, bright pop. This will look great with a cord A-line skirt or layered over a floaty dress, for a 60s feminine feel.
