Menswear Monday

So, last week I gave you a pick of warm winter jumpers for every price range and it's time to venture outside. Here is a selection of the best coats out there at the moment:

Faux shearling is an incredibly warm synthetic material, and so soft to have on your skin! Neighbourhood's brown brown button up jacket (£600) is great for casual, every day use and the short cut is very practical. The popper buttons look authentic on the deep chocolate shade, and the square collar is a nice touch.

Thom Browne is known for classically English looks and this overcoat (£1535) is no exception. The wool herringbone design can be styled casually when worn open with jeans and a round neck jumper, or smartened up with black suit trousers and smart leather lace up shoes.

No one does leather quite like Saint Laurent and this black jacket is everything you could want from a biker. At £3010, it is certainly not cheap but you get exactly what you pay for. This is a thick and durable jacket that is more of an investment in your future warmth. Not a soul could doubt your style credentials in this, especially when you team it with black skinny jeans and matching black leather boots. The many zips and buckle along the hem will toughen any look up.

A parka is an age-old favourite outerwear piece and quite the peak of warmth. J Crew may be known for their denim and this light khaki coat (£400) would look great when put on top. The brown faux fur trim hood is added warmth against the elements and will give a cool edge to the green colour of the body.

A cream trench coat is the absolute wardrobe staple, and you don't get much better than Burberry. This trench from their London diffusion line (£1095) is the ultimate is clean dressing, with the double breasted buttoning and buckled belt. The detailing on the shoulder matches the small buckles on the sleeve cuffs, finishing off this suave look perfectly.

Topman is a high street favourite for guys everywhere, and they can be relied on for being consistently on-trend. This navy version (£95) has a waxed appearance, with a faux fur trim on the hood to give it a bit of 'cool'.

The ever reliable New Look have come up with this navy duffle coat (£59.99), a style which has long been loved by men and women alike. You're always going to be warm in this thick cut wool mix coat.

The cream trench may be a classic, but this navy version from Burton (£70) is every bit as sophisticated. The large collar is good for balancing out the clean cut of the body, and the buckled cuffs are a nod to the traditional designs.

This faux shearling jacket from Asos (£65) has a leather look to it, which is perfect for the 'biker' style. The soft-touch collar is a great comfort in the winter winds and looks very slick when flicked up. The zip up the middle is a change from the usual double-breasted fastening.

Peacoats are expressly smart and stylish, instantly turning any casual outfit up a notch. This light grey woolen version from River Island (£85) is just the ticket you need, with the pockets on either side making it super practical.
